What is David Star
Jewish people of all ages and from all streams of Jewish life often wear a silver or gold Star of David on a necklace.
As people spend according to what they can afford, you can find these items in all qualities, in silver, gold and sometimes even in platinum.
However, the Star of David diamond is special. While good quality jewelry pieces that have a diamond Star of David set in the piece are not uncommon, these Star of David diamond pieces are invariably made of composite pieces, i.e. made up from a square center stone and complimented by small, triangle shaped diamonds.
But the proprietary diamond cut, the Star of David diamond, is fashioned out of a single piece of rough!
The Star of David diamond is a full depth, brilliant diamond. However, when compared to a full round brilliant cut, the Star of David shape requires a cutter to cut away a larger part of the rough material than usual. However, the two partners in the Star of David project say they believe that the material lost in the rough is compensated for by the emotional value that the diamond's shape offers.
The Star of David is the most difficult diamond to create. The diamond's intricate shape results in a higher chance of breakage in the cutting process than any other diamond shape. Therefore, only a handful of highly skilled and experienced craftsmen are able to carry out the task. Despite the highest levels of diamond cutting skill and the utilization of the latest machinery and technology, each Star of David diamond is a creation of patience and precision.
